Airports of Thailand and Flughafen Wien AG Sign Sister Airport Agreement to Strengthen Cooperation and Promote Sustainable Airport Development

Vienna, Austria — 11 December 2025 — Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) and Flughafen Wien Aktiengesellschaft (FWAG), the operator of Vienna Airport, have entered into a Sister Airport Agreement to foster collaboration and exchange of expertise in airport management and operations. The signing ceremony took place today at Vienna Airport in Vienna, Austria.

Under the agreement, both airport operators will pursue close cooperation in key areas including airport operational efficiency, digital transformation and innovation for enhanced passenger experience, and route development between Thailand and Austria.

This partnership marks an important milestone in strengthening the relationship between two leading airport operators in Europe and Asia. It aims to create a platform for knowledge sharing, personnel exchange, and best practice collaboration to elevate service quality, operational standards, and environmental sustainability across their respective airports.

Following the signing, executives from both organizations held an executive meeting to discuss potential joint initiatives and cooperation frameworks that support long-term airport development. The discussions focused on optimizing airport operations, advancing digital systems for smarter passenger journeys, and exploring opportunities to enhance connectivity between Bangkok and Vienna — strengthening Thailand’s role as a regional aviation hub and Austria’s position as a key gateway to Central Europe.
