AOT ready to halve landing and parking fees to lure more flights

Airports of Thailand’s (AOT) board approved the latest flight schedule management for AOT’s 6 airports namely Suvarnabhumi Airport, Don Mueang International Airport, Phuket International Airport, Chiang Mai International Airport , Hat Yai International Airport and Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai International Airport in order to support the airlines for flight proposal process and improve flight efficiency in our airports especially at Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Mueang International Airport.
According to the outbreak of the coronavirus which has heavily affected the global aviation sector, thus AOT settles a plan to deal with the airlines that usually perform last-minutes cancellation of their slots, obstructing the slot allocation to fly instead in time.
AOT has launched a new measure to boost national tourism sector and make productive flight management by providing attractive promotion such as discount and bonus-reward for any airline operators under our conditions during 5 February 2020 - 26 March 2022.
Additionally, the bonus of 200 baht per passenger will be supported to any departure flights that are operated in replacing of the cancelled slots including 50% discount of landing-parking fee rate offering to extra flights and charter flights that take the place of the cancelled ones. This measure will be expired on the last day of the winter schedule in 2022 or in April 2022.
AOT truly believes that this incentive packages could boost the entire aviation industry in order to weather the storm from conoravirus outbreak and also embrace tourism sector suffering from the sharp fall. In other word, it would be a great opportunity to develop airport service and flight management for the most efficient.
