AOT Joined Online Business Matching “The Routes Reconnected”
Representatives of Business Development and Marketing Department participated in the online meeting “The Routes Reconnected” on behalf of AOT during 30 November – 4 December 2020 at AOT Head Office. The objective of the meeting was to create business matching with over 20 targeted airline operators and airports such as Cam Ranh Airport in Vietnam, Air New Zealand and Jetstar Airways.
The meeting’s summary indicated that the overall of the current aviation market was likely on the same direction; the domestic market had turned to rebound to over 80% while the international market, especially European countries, had also increased due to the reopening policy of the countries, thereby increasing in frequency of international flights, depending on the COVID-19 measurement of each country. On the other hand, for the Asian countries, most of the international commercial flights have still been prohibited. As a consequent, airlines and airports have to create new marketing models to increase their revenues such as cargo and charter flights. According to international aviation organization, airlines and airports would possibly resumed their international flight operations by the last quarter of 2021. As such, the summarized information from the meeting is determined to be the short-term business plan and market strategies of AOT during 2021-2022 to readily serve the air travel in the future.
“The Routes Reconnected” online meeting was organized by Informa Ltd., the United Kingdom company, which also held the biggest global aviation business forum “The Route Development Forum”. The meeting aimed to provide a business matching opportunity between airport companies and airline operators since the COVID-19 pandemic has affected aviation industries throughout 2020. The outbreak has an impact on the whole industry including travel restrictions, International flight cancellation and business travel ban so the Face-to-Face meeting cannot be arranged.
