Permit to carry firearms and ammunition aboard an aircraft

Under Section 26 of the Air Navigation Act B.E. 2497 (1954), no person may send or carry dangerous objects or animals that endanger aircraft safety, as prescribed by ministerial regulation, aboard an aircraft without written permission from the competent official and compliance with the conditions the official prescribes. The ministerial regulation of B.E. 2550 (2007) designates firearms as requiring written permission before being carried with an aircraft. Permission is issued for flights originating from airports under AOT’s responsibility, with quantities and packaging per ICAO technical instructions for the safe transport of dangerous goods by air.
